Meeting for TFP

Meeting for TFP / TFCD
Time for prints or Time for CD [images on a disc]
The big day is here and you have found a photographer but what next?
Have you done your initial homework on checking out how reputable he or she is?
If not save this page and click here for tips on checking out your photographer. Remember safety first, especially if you are meeting someone for the first time.
Now you are ready to talk to your photographer to discuss what you both want to get out of the photo shoot.
One thing to remember your photographer will also want to gain experience in other areas such as different lighting conditions or positions that might be slightly different than you expected, so maybe set some time aside to keep their needs happy, you may even be surprised on the result!
Next comes the terms and conditions, on meeting [or it may be emailed to you in advance for you to sign]. You will be asked to sign a model release form; this is perfectly normal and is common practise.
Discuss what the photographer wants to do with the images, its commonplace for the photographer to try and make money selling the images so don’t be alarmed if you see yourself on a company’s website or a magazine.
It’s also worth noting if you have any real objections to what happens with the photos talk to your photographer, it’s always best to get this out the way before a photograph is taken.
After the shoot is finished are you going to pick up the cd of images or is it being delivered?
Then only one thing to do, go back on to www.photographerormodel.com upload your images as well as comment and rate their profile so others can see the great work that was produced.
Things to remember –
- SAFETY FIRST read and follow the guidelines of safety on the photographerormodel.com website.
- New photographers have to start somewhere so even if they don’t have all the equipment in place to look professional it doesn’t mean they are fraudulent or are dangerous; they are also learning the business basics. Always take precautions.
- Your photographer may have requirements.
- You will not get every photo the photographer takes, probably just the ones they choose as the best, to be honest if they do not jump out at you as superb they are not worth having anyway.
- Both you and your photographer are learning the trade so results WILL NOT be perfect, hence why the service is free to each other!
- Don’t be too harsh if the results are really poor [this WILL HAPPEN from time to time], just keep doing what you do best and good will come to you. Remember you don’t have to work with them again - just look through our list and find another.
- Do your best to make the date you both set – remember in this industry reputation follows you like chewing gum to a shoe!
