Press/News photographers

  

A press or news photographer has a wide range of skills one minute

they are photographing hooligans coming of out of court, to fires,

crashes and then to either a fashion shoot, sporting event or a

interior photograph of a house for their property pages.

 

Press photographers are either freelance or full time employed.

Press photographers charges are more standard and structured than

other types of photographers but this will obviously change from job

to job depending on requirements, this normally is time related and

will charge by either the hour, 1/2, full day or by the job but always

worth checking first, also a mileage costing is included and this is

commonplace in this type of photography.

 

The press photographer’s portfolio will subdivide into lots of

different categories to show a range of their talents but one category

will definitely include sports photographs, this I think its safe to

for more information] most press photographers will happily cover

sporting event photography but only some will actively seek

freelancing this area so depending on the needs of photographs It may

be worth seeking a specialist as they will have the enormously

expensive equipment required to be at the top of the list for this

profession, they will also normally have the ability to either send

photographs whilst the event is taking place for early web/page

planning use.

 

Most freelance press photographs will also have access to wireless

internet so live photographs can be streamed back minutes after an

event happens, this doesn’t apply to all so if you are requiring

instant photographs its worth checking.

A press photographer will also have the ability to correctly caption

work giving the news desk an understanding what is in the photograph.
